Imran Khan

A knowledgeable person, a charming personality and a gifted all-rounder, Imran Khan started his One-Day International career for Pakistan against England in 1974. He played 175 One-Day Internationals for the country and scoring 3709 runs in 151 innings at an average of 33.41 runs per innings and a strike rate of 72.64. He has one century and nineteen fifties to his name with his highest score at 102 not out.


He also proved his talent with the ball taking 182 wickets in his One-Day International career at an average of 26.61.He has the career best figure of 6/14 and was a miser when it came to giving runs having an economy of 3.89 runs per over. He infused in the youth of the time a dream of becoming a fast bowler in spite of bowling in the dry pitches of the subcontinent. He was awarded the Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1983.

Imran Khan is the only captain to have given Pakistan the taste of winning the World Cup when he led his team to the triumph in 1992.He has featured in 28 of Pakistan’s campaigns at the World Cup and scored 666 runs at an average of 35.05 and a strike rate of 65.61.He scored one century and four fifties in the World Cup matches and has the highest score of 102 not out. He also served the team with the ball and took 34 wickets at an average of 19.26 and best figure of 4/37. He boasts a miserly economic rate of 3.86 runs per over and has taken four wickets in a match twice in the World Cup.
