Sir Richard John Hadlee KBE (Sports)


(born July 3, 1951), New Zealand cricketer (known as the Black Caps), and universally regarded as their best-ever. A bowling “all-rounder”, in an 86-Test career he took 431 wickets (at the time the world record) at the excellent average of 22.29, and made 3124 test runs at 27.16, including 2 centuries and 16 fifties. For Nottinghamshire, on often overgrassed Trent Bridge pitches, his bowling was often quite deadly, and he gained some analyses that are remarkable in an era of covered pitches, notably his eight for 22 against Surrey in 1984. He represented Nottinghamshire between 1978 and 1987, but played only three full seasons due to injuries and Test calls. However, his bowling figures for those three seasons were quite remarkable:

Hanif Mohammed (Sports)

(born 21 December 1934 in Junagadh, Gujarat, India) was one of Pakistan’s greatest cricketers, playing for the Pakistani cricket team in 55 Test matches between 1952/53 and 1969/70 and averaging a fine 43.98, with twelve hundreds.

Colin Croft (Sports)

was a West Indian cricketer. He was part of the fearsome quartret of fast bowlers from the late 70s and early 80s. With his giant frame of 6 foot 6, he bowled nasty bouncers and was very aggressive. His figures of 8/29 against Pakistan in 1977 is still the best Test figures by a genuine fast bowler from the West Indies. His career ended when he went to the rebel tour of South Africa in 1982.

Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi (Sports)


(born 1 March 1980 in Khyber Agency), popularly known as Shahid Afridi, is a Pakistani cricketer currently playing for the Pakistani national team in the international circuit. He made his ODI debut on 2 October 1996 against Kenya in Nairobi[1] and his Test debut on 22 October 1998 against Australia at Karachi.[2] He is known for his aggressive batting style, and currently holds the highest career strike rate in the history of international cricket. In a recent survey, Afridi was named as the most popular cricketer in Pakistan.[3] He also holds the record for the fastest one day century which he made in his debut innings, as well as scoring 32 runs in a single over, the second highest scoring over ever in an ODI.

Wasim Akram (Sports)


born on June 3, 1966 in Lahore, is a former Pakistani cricketer. He was a left-arm fast bowler and left-handed batsman, who represented the Pakistani cricket team in Tests and One Day Internationals. Widely regarded as one of the finest fast bowlers ever, Akram holds world records for the most wickets taken in both ODIs (502) and test cricket (881), and was one of the pioneers of reverse swing bowling. The revolutionary nature of reverse swing initially resulted in accusations of ball tampering, although reverse swing has now been accepted as a legitimate feature of the game. Jesse Owens (Sports)


was born in Alabama and aged 9 the family moved to the Granville section of Cleveland. His early life was marked by poverty and he was forced to take many menial jobs such as delivering goods and working in a shoe repair shops. However, he was able to develop his passion for running and athletics; from an early age he was marked as having great potential talent. In later life he gave much credit to Charles Riley, his high school coach who encouraged him and made allowances for his difficulty in making evening training sessions because Jesse had to work in a shoe repair shop.

Pele (Sports)


is the most iconic footballer of the twentieth Century. He epitomised the flair, joy and passion the Brazilians bought to the game. Pele's career spanned many the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.

Muhammad Ali (Sports)


(born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. on January 17, 1942) is a retired American boxer. In 1999, Ali was crowned "Sportsman of the Century" by Sports Illustrated. He won the World Heavyweight Boxing championship three times, and won the North American Boxing Federation championship as well as an Olympic gold medal.

Imran Khan

A knowledgeable person, a charming personality and a gifted all-rounder, Imran Khan started his One-Day International career for Pakistan against England in 1974. He played 175 One-Day Internationals for the country and scoring 3709 runs in 151 innings at an average of 33.41 runs per innings and a strike rate of 72.64. He has one century and nineteen fifties to his name with his highest score at 102 not out.

Ronaldo

Ronaldo Luiz Nazário de Lima (b. September 22, 1976), simply known as Ronaldo, is a Brazilian footballer who is widely considered to be one of the best strikers of all time.

Maria Yuryevna Sharapova is a Russian professional tennis player. Her parents are originally from Gomel, Belarus, but moved to Russia in 1986 in the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear accident. Sharapova was born in Nyagan, Siberia, the following year.

(born 18 July 1949 in Subiaco, Western Australia) is a former Australian cricketer rated as the "outstanding fast bowler of his generation".[1] Lillee was known for his fiery temperament, 'never-say-die' attitude and popularity with the fans.
